Sabah cops to auction off confiscated items

KOTA KINABALU: A flurry of items confiscated by Sabah police in their previous anti-crime operations will be up for sale at a public auction here next week.

A statement issued by the state police contingent headquarters (IPK) here on Tuesday (June 22) said the auction is aimed at getting rid of 158 assets comprising jewellery, electrical appliances, outboard engines, motorcycles and cars.

The auction will be held at the Sabah IPK community hall from 8pm to 2pm on June 28.

Among the highest priced items were a 269g gold necklace going for RM47,500 and a Honda CRZ which was being sold at RM30,000.

A spokesman said interested bidders can view the items earlier from June 24 to 27.

“All these 158 assets to be auctioned can be viewed at the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department’s property forfeiture office at the Sabah IPK in Kepayan from 9am to 3pm.

“Bidders who want to take part must register with the auction officer by providing their full names, MyKad and address,” the spokesman said.

The bidders will also be briefed about the conditions and guidelines for the auction.
